Can I play ZX Spectrum / MS-DOS games natively on PC?
Not as finished native ports yet; the 1 projects below show how far each has got.
What is the difference between a ZX Spectrum / MS-DOS decomp and a recomp?
A decompilation rewrites the game's machine code as readable C that rebuilds the original; a static recompilation translates the machine code mechanically into C/C++ that runs natively. Recomps arrive faster; decomps are easier to mod and port.
Are these ZX Spectrum / MS-DOS projects legal?
They publish code only, and the ones that need game data ask you to supply it from a copy you own. Recomp never links to ROMs, ISOs or game files.
