Privacy policy
Last updated 2026-11-04. Short version: no accounts, no ads, no selling data, and basic analytics only.
What we collect
Recomp has no accounts, and nothing you type is sent to us. We use Google Analytics 4 to see how the site is used:
- the pages you view and the site you came from
- clicks on download, repository, play and feed links
- what you type into the site's search box, once you stop typing
- general device, browser and approximate location (country or city) information
Google processes this data under its privacy policy. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. To opt out, use a content blocker or Google's opt-out add-on; the site works the same without it.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare, which handles requests (including your IP address) to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. Fonts and images are served from our own domain, not from third-party CDNs.
Stored in your browser
Two values are kept in your browser's local storage and are never sent to us: your light/dark theme choice (theme) and the time of your last visit (lastVisit), used for "new since your last visit" on the home page. We set no cookies ourselves; Google Analytics sets its own.
Submissions and corrections
The submit and correction forms open a prefilled issue on GitHub. Anything you post there is public and handled by GitHub's privacy statement.
Other sites
Project links lead to sites we do not control, such as GitHub and the projects' own pages. Builds on the Play page are framed from other sites, which apply their own policies; when a build asks you to pick a file, the file is opened in your browser and is not uploaded to us.
What we never do
No advertising trackers, no selling or sharing of personal data, no email lists, no fingerprinting.
